Problem:
We feel isolated and distanced even though we are living closely together. As a result we tend to depend more and more on government instead of one another.
Reason:
Lack of community spirit to develop common good.
In an urban lifestyle, with the need for privacy in a crowded environment, there is a lack of community spirit to bring neighbors together for communal goods.
Solution:
Encourage members of the community to come together more often to solve common problems. In other word, practice participatory democracy. Encourage development of neighborhood facilities including common grounds, neighborhood shops and businesses so that a community is not just residential blocks.
Preserve the unique character and natural evolution of different communities in our town planning.
