In preparation for this policy statement --my solution plan-- I tried to follow the four-step problem solving approach stated in the Better Hong Kong Movement Mission Statement.
I believe the three most crucial problem areas in our society are:
Health Care System
Education System
Legal Justice
Solving these three problems will have far reaching effects on our future. By freeing ourselves from the bondage of self-serving professionals and cultivating a new generation of healthy (bodily, emotionally and spiritually) individuals capable of independent thinking, most other societal problems will eventually be solved.
Our health care is going bankrupt following the pattern of other western countries. More and more people have become addicted to pharmaceutical drugs. Education has become a bureaucratic numbers game. The only real winners in a legal procedure are the lawyers. These problems affect all of us, no matter what our background is or how much do we earn. When confronted with these issues, most of us feel helpless.
But Dr. Yuan has withdrawn from the election because his renunciation of Canadian citizenship did not come in time.
