In preparation for this policy statement --my solution plan--I tried to follow the four step problem solving approach stated in the Better Hong Kong Movement Mission Statement.
I believe the three most crucial problems in our society are:
Health Care System
Solving these three problems will have far reaching effects on our future. By freeing ourselves from the bondage of self-serving professionals and cultivating a new generation of healthy (bodily, emotionally and spiritually) individuals capable of independent thinking, most other societal problems will eventually be solved.
Our health care is going bankrupt following the pattern of other western countries. More and more people have become addicted to pharmaceutical drugs. Education has become a bureaucratic numbers game. The only real winners in a legal procedure are the lawyers. These problems affect all of us, no matter our background or income. When confronted with these issues, most of us feel helpless.
In the past, we have seen different political parties and government officials come and go. Few have come up with solid comprehensive solutions. Before we reach the point of no return, we should say to ourselves,” Enough is enough! I shouldn’t wait for someone else to help me because everything begins with me.”
Over the years, I have thought long and hard on many issues confronting our society. Where are the solutions? How do we change our systems in order to make things better? Health care, education and legal justice are the foundation stones to building our better future.
In this election, I hope to emphasize my solutions to Hong Kong’s three fundamental problems - health care, education, legal justice - but more importantly, I hope to remind everyone that they all can say - “I can make a difference!”
I will bring forth a drastically new way of bringing the many capable “I’s” to Xute action plans to better Hong Kong.
If you feel that we need to solve these three fundamental problems - health care, education and legal justice, and if you want to be part of the solution for a better Hong Kong, Vote for a better Hong Kong.
